5/21/2024 9:30:00 PM | General
The 2024 Bolt Awards commenced this evening, as cadet-athletes were awarded various honors during the event at Arnold Hall to celebrate the numerous Air Force athletic successes of the past year.
Chris Cicere, the Chief Intercollegiate Liaison Division/Student Athlete Affairs and a 1983 graduate of the Academy, was again one of the architects of the festive evening.
"The Bolt Awards, like any endeavor in the athletic department, is a team effort," Cicere said. "Capt. Alexa Berstler and Capt. Genevieve Miller have run point on this event since the fall, while Autumn Bolton and the entire AFAAC marketing team have been instrumental in developing the entire presentation to include the script and the supporting videos. The sports information office developed the nominees in each category and the Arnold Hall staff has been super supportive, as we could not have this event without their support. From Air Force Sports Properties, Emma Porter worked with food vendors to provide a great meal to the cadets. As well, cadets Grace Sublette, Luke Robinson and Murphy Riggs were very helpful in getting cadet support for the Bolt Awards and in Grace's case, she worked to get cadet presenters and participants in our videos of cadets playing other sports.
"The Bolt Awards are a chance for the cadets to have some fun in an informal setting," Cicere added.
