Air Force men's water polo (15-11) dropped a 25-10 contest at #4 Cal (16-4) in non-conference play Friday afternoon at Spieker Aquatics Complex in Berkeley, Calif.
The Bears built a 5-2 lead after the first quarter and pulled away to lead 12-4 at the half. The Falcons had its best quarter in the third with four goals.
The junior duo of Tom Leggett and Jack Richards combined for seven goals and eight points. Leggett tallied four goals and Richards scored three goals and an assist. Brady Kopperud, Jake Dixon and Jackson Carter scored two points each.
Luca Smith and Jay Pyle split duties in goal, with both recording three saves each.
Air Force returns to action tomorrow with two games at the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament. The Falcons open against UC Merced in San Jose and then take on #19 Harvard in Santa Clara. Video stream and live stats will be available for both games.
