
Falcon Wrestling Concludes Roadrunner Open with Heavyweight Champion, 10 Placers

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Air Force freshman Rylan Kuhn claimed the heavyweight title at the 2025 Roadrunner Open, hosted by CSU Bakersfield in the Icardo Center, Sunday afternoon. The Falcons, with three finalists, put 10 wrestlers on the podium across the event.
Alongside Kuhn, Air Force finalists included senior team captain Tucker Owens (125) and nationally ranked No. 29 C4C Karson Tompkins (197).
Kuhn claimed the title with a 4-0 record via two decision wins, a medical default and medical forfeit. Owens, a 2023 NCAA qualifier, went 3-1 on the tournament to bring his season record to 9-2. Two of Owens' wins came with bonus points. Tompkins, the Falcons' standout freshman, went 3-1 on the day. The Falcon fell to Oregon State's U20 World Champion and NCAA Qualifier, No. 7 Justin Rademacher.
Four Falcons earned fourth place finishes in C4C Gunner Cramblett, C3C Logan Fowler, C2C Owen Heiser, and C2C Antonio Ramos. Cramblett posted a 4-2 record, three of his wins coming with bonus points. Heiser also picked up four wins with three coming with bonus points. Ramos tallied two falls in his four wins, including a 13-second pin in his third bout.
Gavin Caprella (133) and Brenden Barnes (141) finished fifth place while Bubba Wright (133) finished sixth. Barnes and Wright won two bouts apiece with bonus points.
