Air Force Picks Up Pair of Wins at the Blue Hose Duals

CLINTON, S.C. – Falcon Wrestling outscored a tough Franklin & Marshall team, 27-14, and blanked Blue Hose Duals host Presbyterian, 44-0, Thursday morning in Templeton Gymnasium. Air Force scored bonus points in 14-of-20 matches on the day. The Falcons' dual record improved to 4-2 this season.
At 125, senior team captain Tucker Owens had an exemplary day, winning both of his bouts by technical fall. Owens racked up 33 total points across two matches while conceding no points to the opponents. Owens has 11 wins this season and remains undefeated in dual action (5-0)
Junior 133-pounder Gavin Caprella was stellar for the Falcons, winning both of his bouts in the bonus points. Caprella posted a major decision over F&M's Mason Leiphart, 14-3, and blanked PC's Dallas Canoyer for a first period technical fall (17-0).
Sophomore standout Carter Nogle racked up a pair of major decisions at 141 in Templeton Gym. Nogle, now 9-2 overall and 5-1in duals, outscored his opponents 27-8. Senior team captain and 149-pounder Bryce Shelton followed up Nogle's wins in both duals with decision wins over Pat Phillips (7-5) and Matt Rodrgiuez (4-2), respectively.
In his collegiate dual meet debut, C4C John Jurkovic (157) pinned Presbyterian's Niko Valenzuela in just 49 seconds. Jurkovic is now 9-2 overall this season and has three pins, two of which came in under a minute.
Sophomore 165-pounder Logan Fowler split the day, dropping a narrow 6-5 decision to F&M's Josh Palmucci, and rectifying with a 9-0 major decision against PC's Yanik Simon.
Freshman 174-pounder Gunner Cramblett picked up his first dual meet wins in good order, posting a second-period technical fall over F&M's Brandon Carr (17-2), and following up with an 11-2 major decision over PC's Joshua Roe.
At 184, Brian Burburija split the day, falling to 2025 CKLV Champion No. 7 James Conway (F&M) by major decision, 14-2. Burburija bounced back with a 17-4 major decision over PC's Reed Douglas.
Freshman standout and 30th ranked 197-pounder, Karson Tompkins, collected his 10th and 11th wins of the season in just two periods of action. Tompkins pinned F&M's RJ Moore in the first period (2:55), and teched PC's Toler Hornick, 15-0, at the 2:15 mark.
Air Force heavyweight Rylan Kuhn split the day with a 4-2 loss to F&M's Brody Kline, and 12-3 major decision win against PC's Morvens Saint-Jean.
