Air Force travels to TCU for a pair of duals

This Week: The eighth-ranked Air Force rifle team travels to Fort Worth, Texas, for a pair of duals against fifth-ranked TCU, Feb. 20 and an NCAA Qualifier on Feb. 22. The match starts at 1:30 pm CT on Thursday and at 8:30 am CT on Saturday. Live scoring will be available at MegaLink.
The Rankings: Air Force's aggregate season average of 4715.462 is the eighth-best in the nation. Alaska leads the nation with a 4743.750, followed by West Virginia (4743.091), Kentucky (4729.231) and TCU (4726.666)
Top Falcons: Senior Lauren Hurley leads the team and ranks 21st in the nation with an aggregate average of 1181.385. Freshman Lily Wytko is second on the team (1178.616) and Victoria Leppert is third (1174.932). Hurley's air rifle average of 596.077 is the 16th best in the nation. Wytko is second on the team in air rifle average at 595.462. Hurley also leads the team with a smallbore average of 585.308. Hurley's air rifle score of 599 (Nov. 9) is tied as the fifth-best in the nation.
Last Time Out: Air Force finished fourth at the Patriot Rifle Conference Championships, Feb. 9, in Fort Wayne, Ind. Air Force shot a 4706 over the two-day event. Alaska, ranked second in the nation, won the conference title with a 4758. Eighth-ranked Ole Miss was second (4746), followed by No. 5 TCU (4732) in third. No. 10 Nebraska was fifth (4699), No. 12 Ohio State was sixth (4694) and No. 16 UTEP was seventh (4670). Senior Scott Rockett led the Falcons in smallbore with a 587 to place 11th overall. Sophomore William Steen shot a career-best 585 to place 16th, followed by Lauren Hurley (584), Victoria Leppert (581), Megan Torrence (579), Lily Wytko (571) and Rushil Punukollu (569). In Sunday's air rifle competition, Wytko was the top Falcon in air rifle with a 595 to place 12th, followed by in 15th-place Hurley (595), Leppert (590), Rockett (589), Bethany Butler (587), Steen (586), Torrence (583) and Punukollu (574).
Looking Ahead: Following the duals at TCU, Air Force will await the 2025 National Collegiate Rifle Selection Show on Monday, February 24th at 6 PM ET on NCAA.com.
