
Falcons finish fourth in air rifle, seventh overall, at NCAA Championships

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Senior Lauren Hurley and junior Victoria Leppert reached the air rifle finals on the final day of the 2025 NCAA Rifle Championships, Saturday, March 15, at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington, Ky.
The pair helped eighth-ranked Air Force finish fourth in air rifle (2382) and seventh in aggregate score. The aggregate score of 4703 is the third highest at the NCAA Championships in school history.
In air rifle, Leppert shot a 598, tying her season high, and Hurley shot 597 to qualify for the finals. In the finals Leppert finished seventh and Hurley finished eighth. Freshman Lillian Wytko shot 596, followed by senior Scott Rockett (591) and sophomore William Steen (581).
Leppert and Wytko each shot a 582 in the smallbore competition. With 36 centers, Wytko was 18th overall while Leppert, with 27 centers, was 22nd. Hurley shot a 579, followed by Steen at 578 and Rockett at 576.
West Virginia won the 2025 NCAA Championship with an aggregate score of 4738, beating Kentucky by one point. Alaska was third (4726), followed by Ole Miss (4716), Georgia Southern (4713), TCU (4712), Air Force (4703) and Murray State (4693).
