
Nazlymov Leads Air Force Fencing At USA Fencing Junior Olympics

Air Force completed competition at the 2026 USA Fencing Junior Olympics, held Jan. 9-12, at the Kansas City Convention Center in Kansas City, Mo. Freshman Andrei Nazlymov led the way with a seventh-place finish in the junior men's saber.
Our of a field of 300, Nazlymov made the quarterfinals in the direct elimination bracket. Nazlymov went a perfect 6-0 in pool competition. He then went 4-1 through the bracket competition, reaching the final eight.
Air Force also had top 100 performances in the junior men's foil and junior men's epee weapons.
In junior men's foil, freshmen Richard Li and Sean Oh earned top 100 finishes. Li placed 71st out of a field of 312, by going 6-0 in prelims and earning one win in the direct elimination bracket. Oh went 4-1 in prelims and also earned one win in the bracket competition.
In junior men's epee, freshmen Kaiden Choi and Byung Kim earned top 100 finishes. Choi finished 62nd out of a field of 366, picking up two wins in the elimination bracket. Kim also earned a win in bracket competition.
Air Force returns to action Jan. 31 at the Schiller Duals in Evanston, Ill.
