Air Force Falls At Creighton Friday

Air Force men's tennis (1-1) dropped a 4-3 contest at Creighton (3-0) Friday at night at the Hanscom Tennis Courts in Omaha, Neb.
The Falcons dropped the doubles point after a tough doubles match that went deep into the tiebreaker. The Falcons opened doubles with AJ Moore and Langdon Tingleaf winning at No. 2 over Yuma Daijima and Kirtan Patel 6-4. Creighton rallied by Rocky McKenzie and Jack McMahon winning at No. 1 over Jack Brown and Tyler Leaird 6-4. The point came down to three doubles, where Zachary Kuo and Mathis Dahler outlasted Phillip Deaton and Alec Fritzinger 7-6 (13-11).
Air Force split singles play with Creighton at 3-3.
Creighton took the first singles point with a win at No. 1. The Falcons fought back by winning the next two singles matches to pull to a tie at 2-2. Fritzinger won at No. 4 over Kuo in straight sets 6-1, 6-2. Moore then won at No. 3 over McKenzie in straight sets 6-4, 6-1.
Creighton won the next two to clinch. The Jays won at No. 6 and No. 5. The Falcons capped the day with Brown winning at No. 2 over Patel, coming back down a set to win 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Air Force returns to action Sunday, Feb. 1 at Nebraska.
