Falcons Finish Day One at Front Range Invite

FORT COLLINS, Colo., - The Falcons opened the regular season on Friday night at the Front Range Invite, hosted by Colorado State
On the diving side, Helena Gibson won the 3-meter competition with a score of 292.60 in her collegiate debut. Lexi Gregory followed in second with 282.15, while Lulu Semakula rounded out the podium in third at 277.95.
Air Force opened the meet with a third-place finish in the 400 medley relay, as Elizabeth Sistrunk, Naomi Furman, Natalie Doig and Lily Larson combined for a time of 3:48.00.
Sistrunk added a bronze-medal finish in the 200 back with a time of 2:04.77, while C4C Ellie Foulke placed fifth at 2:05.41.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Ryan Mills, Larson, Charlee DeJong and Libbi McCarthy took fourth in 1:35.63.
In the 500 free, Hannah Seal led the Falcons in fifth with a time of 5:08.07, followed by Larson in sixth at 5:09.01 and Doig in seventh at 5:09.21.
Senior captain Furman placed fifth in the 200 breast, clocking a 2:24.96, while Jena Nowoswiat earned fifth in the 200 fly at 2:07.78.
Jordan Evans recorded Air Force's top finish in the 200 IM, placing sixth with a time of 2:09.51.
Freshman McCarthy made her collegiate debut in the 50 free, clocking a 23.93 to finish fifth. In the 100 free, Mills (52.14), Larson (52.35) and McCarthy (52.92) finished eighth through 10th, respectively.
Air Force will close out the Front Range Invite Saturday, Oct. 3, at 11 a.m. MT. Colorado State will host the swimming portion, while the diving competition will take place at USAFA.
