Men's Swim & Dive Wins the Front Range Invite

FORT COLLINS, Colo., - Air Force men's swimming and diving won the Front Range Invitational with a combined score of 1,182, defeating Wyoming (1,041) and Denver (822) on Saturday, Oct. 3. Across the competition, the Falcons secured 24 top-five swim placements and 12 top-five dive finishes.
Junior Tanner Wilson touched the wall at 55.62 to win the 100 breast, his second top finish of the weekend. In the same event, Mack Nuval (57.24) and Brandon Cho (57.45) rounded out the top five.
On the diving side, Brady Nichol completed the sweep, placing first on the 3-meter with a score of 290.60. Freshman Oscar Preas earned second at 284.20.
In the 100 back, Matthew Doty earned the runner-up spot at 50.75.
Evan Witte (4:10.67) and Cho (4:12.55) went back-to-back in third and fourth in the 400 IM.
Air Force's 200 medley relay team, comprised of Doty, Wilson, Jordan Falls and Joe Christ, placed third with a time of 1:32.20.
Falls, Christ, Luke Green and Doty combined for a fourth-place 400 free relay time of 3:06.06.
Distance swimmers Witte (16:26.54) and Samuel Metzgar (16:44.97) claimed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 1650 free.
Metzgar also clocked a 1:43.67 in the 200 free to take fifth.
The Falcons return to action for their first dual meet of the season against Wyoming on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 1 p.m. MT in Laramie, Wyo.
