
Two Falcons qualify for NCAA Rifle Championships

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force sophomore Lily Wytko and freshman Lily Miller each qualified as individuals in air rifle for the NCAA Championships, Friday-Saturday, March 13-14, at the Covelli Center in Columbus, Ohio.The air rifle championships will be Saturday, March 14.
Miller, from ,Yuba City, Calif., shot a career-high 597 at the NCAA Qualifier, Feb. 21, at the Cadet Rifle Range. Miller holds an air rifle average score of 588.85 this season.
Wytko, from Columbia, Md., shot a 596 at the NCAA Qualifier, Feb. 21, just two points shy of her career high. Wytko has an air rifle average score of 595.7 this season.
They are the first Falcons to compete as individuals since Meredith Carpentier in 2014. A 2015 graduate, Carpentier earned first team air rifle and second team smallbore.
This will be Miller's first trip to the NCAA Rifle Championships. Wytko competed last season as the Falcons reached the NCAA Championship as a team. Wytko earned second-team All-America honors in air rifle last season. Wytko also won the gold medal in air rifle at the 2025 USA Shooting Winter Air Gun championships.
After the top eight teams qualified (Alaska, Georgia Southern, Kentucky, Navy, Nebraska, Ole Miss, TCU, West Virginia), the next four individuals in smallbore and air rifle qualify as individuals.
