
James Winterfield Concludes Career on Final Day of NCAA Championships

ATLANTA, Ga., - Senior James Winterfield closed his stint at the 2026 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving National Championships on Saturday morning at the McAuley Aquatic Center.
In the final race of his Air Force career, Winterfield swam a 1:45.11 in the 200 IM to place 31st overall.
"I'm very proud of James and all that he has accomplished in four years at USAFA," expressed head coach Rob Clayton. "He led his teammates back to the top of the conference, set several school records, and earned a trip to the NCAAs all while being a top leader in the cadet wing. It was an honor to coach him and I am excited to see all the great things he will do in the Air Force and beyond!"
With today's swim, Winterfield closed the 2025-26 season for Falcons swimming.
