JUNIOR YEAR | 2020-21: Competed in the discus and javelin during seven outdoor meets…scored for Air Force in the javelin at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships…registered a career-best distance of 181’11” to finish seventh at the conference meet…accounted for the second-best discus distance on the team in 2021, following a career-best 158’2” performance to finish within the top half of the field at the West Coast Relays.
SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2019-20: Did not compete due to NCAA cancellation of the outdoor season.
FRESHMAN YEAR | 2018-19: Competed in the discus and javelin events during five outdoor meets...recorded a career-best discus distance of 156’9” during a third-place performance at the Air Force Twilight Open...posted a throw of 156’7” to finish third out of 15 competitors in collegiate debut at the Jerry Quiller Classic...collected a personal-best javelin throw of 166’10” to finish second at the Doug Max Invitational...did not compete for the Falcons during the indoor season.
HIGH SCHOOL: Chicago Hope Academy...earned runner-up honors in the discus at the Illinois state championships...also claimed a seventh-place finish as a member of the 4x100-meter relay...served as team captain for both the baseball and track/field teams...first-team all-conference selection...MVP of baseball team...named to the highest Honor Roll.
PERSONAL: Full name is Jarod Taylor Pankau...son of Jason and Jen Pankau...both parents competed in athletics at Brown University (father in football and track/field; mother in soccer)...majoring in military and strategic studies...future plans include becoming a pilot...has served as Drill and Ceremonies Officer, PEER, and Certifications NCOIC…named to the Commandant’s List for excellence in military performance…also named to the Dean’s List and Athletic Director’s List...hobbies include food and spending time with friends and family...nickname is “Pancakes”...would like to add “God, Family, Country”...completed the Academy’s Powered Flight program over the summer…also worked Summer Seminar, which gives high schoolers the chance to experience Academy life first-hand...member of cadet Squadron 24.
