Team Notes
- Air Force uses game captains. The captains for the UNLV game were seniors Sean Quintana, John Falgout, Chris Campbell, Brandon Geyer and Luke Hyder.
- Air Force improves to 7-4 overall and 5-2 in the Mountain West Conference.
- Air Force head coach Troy Calhoun improves to 24-13 overall and 16-7 in conference games. Calhoun is the first coach in school history to lead the Falcons to seven or more wins in each of his first three seasons. Calhoun's 16 MWC wins are the most in a three-year span in school history, breaking the previous mark of 13 from 2000-02. His 16 conference wins tie as the third most ever in school history. The 1984-85 teams won 16 games while the 1985-87 and 1996-98 teams share the record of 18.
- Air Force improves to 327-273-13 overall in its 54th season of varsity football. The Falcons are 42-39 as a member of the MWC, including a 25-16 mark at home. Air Force improves to 73-58 overall since joining the conference in 1999, including a 42-24 mark at home.
- Air Force improves to 11-3 overall vs. UNLV, including a 6-1 mark at home. The Falcons have won three straight and seven of the last eight in the series.
- Air Force improves to 14-4 at home since 1997 which ties as the second most wins in school history in a three-year span. The 1985-87 and 1998-00 teams also won 14 games (14-3). The school record of 15-2 was set by the 1983-85 teams.
- Air Force improves 13-4 overall and 4-1 this season under head coach Troy Calhoun during the second half of the season (last six games). Air Force was 12-24 over the last six seasons prior to 2007.
- Air Force improves to 7-0 this season when scoring first and 16-2 under head coach Troy Calhoun. The Falcons improved to 6-1 this season when leading at halftime and 16-4 overall under Calhoun.
- Air Force forced a punt on UNLV's opening drive of the game. The Falcons have allowed just two scores this season on the opening drive of the game. The team has forced a punt five times, including three of the last four games, a blocked field goal and two turnovers.
- Air Force extended its school-record consecutive games scoring streak to 205 games dating back to 1992. The streak is the fourth longest active streak in the country. The 205-game streak is the 15th longest in NCAA history.
- Air Force's opening scoring drive of 95 yards is the longest this season. The previous long of 86 yards came at Colorado State. The Falcons scored three times on drives of 80 or more yards. Coming into the UNLV game, the Falcons had just three scoring drives of 80 yards or longer. -----------
- Air Force forced ---- turnovers (INT, fumble) to mark the seventh time this season the team has forced two or more turnovers in a game. The Falcons have forced two or more turnovers in 20 of the last 28 games.
- Air Force scored ---- points to record its third straight game with 30 or more points this season. The Falcons scored 35 points last week vs. Army and 34 at Colorado State on Oct. 31. The ---- points are the most this season in a conference game. The previous high was 37 points at New Mexico.
- Air Force rushed for --- yards and had ---- yards of total offense which are the most vs. a conference opponent this season. The previous high in rushing was 298 at New Mexico while the previous high in total offense was 382 at Colorado State. The team's season highs came against Nicholls State in the season opener with 474 yards rushing and 576 yards of total offense.
- Sophomore RB Asher Clark rushed for a career highs of 160 yards and three touchdowns to record his first 100-yard game this season and third of his career. Clark's third touchdown came on a season-long run of 40 yards. All five of Clark's rushing touchdowns this season have come in the last two games. His previous high in rushing of 136 yards came last season vs. Colorado State while his previous high for TDs of two came last week. Clark rushed for ----- yards to move into ----- place on the Air Force career rushing list with 1,129+++ yards.
- Junior FB Jared Tew rushed for ---- yards and became the 36th player in Air Force history to rush for 1,000 or more yards in his career. Tew moved into ---- place on the career rushing list with 982++++ yards. He also scored his team-best seventh rushing touchdown of the season on Air Force's second drive. Tew has scored a rushing touchdown in four of the last five games this season.
- Junior DL Rick Ricketts recorded his fourth sack of the season which is the second most on the team.
- Sophomore SPC Erik Soderberg kicked his 20th field goal this season which is the second most in school history in a single season. He trails Ryan Harrison, who set the single season record with 24 in 2008. Soderberg has hit eight of his last nine field goals with the only miss coming from a career-long 59 yards last week vs. Army. Soderberg has hit at least one field goal in 10 of 11 games this season.
- Senior DB Chris Thomas recorded his second interception this season and fifth of his career. Thomas has been involved in 15 career turnovers (5 INT, 7 FR, 3 FF).
- Sophomore QB Tim Jefferson hit eight of 13 passes for 126 yards to mark the third straight game he's thrown for 100 or more yards and fifth time this season. Jefferson rushed for 63 yards on eight carries to record a new season high. His previous high was 35 yards at Colorado State.
- Junior FB Nathan Walker scored his second touchdown of the season and of his career. The touchdown is his first since the season-opening win over Nicholls State.
