Team Notes
Today's game captains were Ben Cochran, Chaz Demerath, Reggie Rembert and Rick Ricketts.
Air Force has now scored in 218 consecutive games, dating back to the 1992 Liberty Bowl (13-0 loss to Mississippi). AFA's streak is the fourth longest active streak in the country and the 14th longest in the history of the NCAA.
Air Force has now scored a rushing touchdown in 19 straight games.
The Air Force seniors are now 32-18 all-time, including a school record for home wins over a four-year period with 19 (19-5 overall). The class is bowl-eligible for the fourth straight year and could become just the third class in school history to play in four straight bowl games (1985 and 1992).
Air Force is 15-8 under Calhoun in games during the second half of the season (last six games).
Air Force is 2-0 this season and 9-3 overall under head coach Troy Calhoun in the month of November. All three losses have come vs. ranked teams.
Air Force ties the school record for most home wins over a four-year period with 19. The team has posted a 19-5 record at home since 2007 to tie with the 1982-85 (19-4) and 1997-00 (19-4) teams.
Air Force has now won three straight over New Mexico and six of the last seven. AFA is now 10-3 vs. New Mexico in Falcon Stadium and 18-10 all-time.
This season's home average attendance of 40,093 is the highest since the Falcons averaged 42,713 in 2002. This season marks the 17th time in school history the Falcons have averaged more than 40,000 fans per game.
Including today's game, Air Force has had more total yards than its opponent in 16 of the last 18 games.
With today's win, Air Force clinched a winning season for the fourth straight year. The last time the Falcons had four straight winning seasons was from 1994 through 2000 (seven seasons).
Individual Notes
With today's win, quarterback Tim Jefferson now has a record of 19-10 as a starter, which ties as the third most in school history. Blane Morgan also won 19 (1997-98). Dee Dowis holds the school record for the most wins with 22 (1986-89). Shaun Carney is second with 21 (2006-09).
Jefferson's touchdown run in the second quarter marked his fourth straight game with a rushing touchdown and his ninth in the last 11 games. He leads the team with 12 rushing touchdowns this season.
Jefferson moved into 31st on the career rushing list today, ahead of Nakia Addison (1994-96). Including today's 78 rushing yards, Jefferson now has 1,346 career rushing yards.
Jefferson's 99 yards of total offense today gives him 1,846 for the season, the 15th highest total in school history.
With his 95 rushing yards today, Asher Clark moved into seventh on the career rushing list, ahead of both Brian Bream (1969-71) and Pat Evans (1984-86). Clark currently has 2,372 career rushing yards.
Connor Dietz's touchdown pass in the second quarter was his first of the season and just his second career touchdown pass. The only other touchdown pass of his career came last season against New Mexico.
Dietz's 67 yards passing today are a career high. His previous high was 64 vs. Utah in 2009.
Dietz's 14-yard touchdown run in the third quarter is his first rushing touchdown of the season and second of his career. It marks the first time in his career he rushed and passed for a score in the same game.
Drew Coleman's catch in the second quarter was the first reception of his career.
Kyle Halderman tied his career high with three catches.
Freshman cornerback Chris Miller had career highs of five total tackles and four solo stops.
Fullback Nathan Walker tied for the team lead with 95 yards rushing. He has averaged 102 yards per game over the last two games.
