Q- Can Academy players turn pro playing baseball, and football? Marlon Rami, Opelousas, LA
Coach Peters - Yes, in a nut shell this is how it would work. Players can play professional baseball after their senior year. They use leave time to play their first short season of minor league ball, attend a month's worth their second season, then apply for a year of excessive leave to play their third year. At the end of their third year they can opt to play full time if they make the 40 man roster, and make their remaining commitment up in the reserve.
Q- How do I go about getting notice by the Academy playing high school baseball? Marlon Rami, Opelousas, LA
Coach Peters - The best way to get recruited is to send us a letter expressing your interest in our program. We will then send you information to fill out. Also, we attend a lot of regional and national showcases across the country, such as team one, perfect game, area code try outs etc. If you can attend these we can evaluate you.
