Air Force Sports Camps going strong in 2018
Air Force Academy athletics sports camps which are now in their 38th year. There will be more than 3,800 campers attend 29 different camps across 21 sports over the three weeks. There are 16 camps the first week, 17 the second and seven the third week along with eight specialty camps that took place on the weekends.
This year’s camps featured youngsters from all 50 states and six different countries. Each Air Force intercollegiate sports head coach runs their camp and boarder campers get to stay in actual dorm rooms on campus. Additionally, 77 cadets and 25 civilians served as counselors in charge of the dorms during the first two weeks of camp. More than 900 campers ages 12-18 stayed in the dorms each week of camps.
