Dr. Derek Vraa, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, CMTPT, FAAOMPT has been in clinical practice for 17 years as a physical therapist, and is a co-founder of the newly accredited USAF Tactical Sports and Orthopeadic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship Program where he serves as senior faculty.
Vraa has guest lectured at physical therapy schools in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and was adjunct faculty, teaching Musculoskeletal Mangement for Concordia University Doctor of Physical Therapy program in St. Paul, MN. Vraa is a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist, a certified strength and conditioning specialist, certified manual trigger point therapist (dry-needling) and completed his Fellowship in Manual Therapy through Regis University in Denver, CO.
In addition, Vraa has presented at both state and national conferences, authored four published abstracts and has authored a chapter in the upcoming 3rd edition of Travell & Simons' Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction: The Trigger Point Manual. Prior to moving to Colorado, Derek spent 10 years working in a private practice in MN treating patients as well as overseeing clinical outcomes for the five clinics. He has served on the Minnesota APTA Dry Needling Task force and Wisconsin APTA Chapter’s Board of Directors as Northwest District chair early in his career.
