Rhys Douglas enters his second year with Air Force fencing in 2025-26 as an assistant coach. Douglas comes to the Academy from Denison University, where he led the saber squad to an undefeated season and first-place finish in the Eastern Women’s Fencing Conference in 2023.
Douglas spent four years at Denison, earning Central Collegiate Fencing Conference Assistant Coach of the Year honors in two of those years. In addition, Douglas is a three-time National Finalist for the USFCA Assistant Coach of the Year.
As an athlete, he competed for Ohio State, where he was part of the 2012 National Championship team. During his time at Ohio State, Douglas was a three-time Midwest Conference team champion and three-time individual Midwest Conference Champion. He also represented Team USA on the international state for almost a decade, including the Junior World Championships in saber in 2011.
