She attended James B. Conant High School in Roselle, Ill. … she competed in gymnastics and went to state for the floor exercise her junior year … she was the director for Snowball, a program that helps kids develop goals and achieve self-confidence … went to state for pole vaulting her senior year.
Mentors: She acknowledges her gifted class teacher Mr. Gillette and her high school calculus teacher Mrs. Ligmanowski as her mentors … she came to the Academy to serve, discipline, doing something different and something that matters … she credits her teammate Silvia Seraly for introducing her to fencing … "plus it’s really cool too," said Bennett … parents are YuMei and Ralph Bennett … has one sister, Jaemie.
Academy: Member of Cadet Squadron 06 ... academically, she wants to graduate from the Academy in the top 10% … she is majoring in astronautical engineering … in athletics, she want to keep her lightning bolts for all the semesters and earn another 500 at some point.
