2019-20 (Sophomore): Competed in 2019 Falcon Open, placing 33rd in senior men's epee.
2018-19 (Freshman): Competed in Falcon open, placing 16th in senior men's epee.
Before the Academy: Attended the USAFA Prep school in 2017-18 ... scored a perfect 500 on the PFT (fitness test) at prep school ... earned four letters in track and three in cross country ... 2016 district champion in the pole vault ... 2015 academic all-state in track ... 2013 Dist. 28-AAA UIL boys cross country team third place ... National Honor Society member ... accepted to a prestigious NASA program in 2016 which he was granted all-expense paid trip to the Johnson Space Center and awarded a science credit ... selected for the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists Award of Excellence for outstanding academic achievement, leadership potential and determination to serve humanity in the field of science and technology.
Personal: Member of cadet squadron 40 ... son of Brent Carson and Xenia Yee ... has an older brother ... operations research major ... Why I decided to come to the Academy: “To serve.” ... active in his squadron as the safety clerk ... during the summer prior to his sophomore year: completed a summer physics class and completed Expeditionary Survival Training (EST) ... hobbies are splitting bars, ultimate frisbee, ping pong, flip-flops, manual transmission (specifically 8 speed), having a good time, photography, hammocks and literature ... began fencing at age 20 ... credits Doug Foster, his high school track coach, as having the biggest influence on his sports career ... pre-competition superstition is to eat one banana before every bout ... dream vacation spot is Switzerland ... guilty pleasure is eating all the food at the table and letting his upperclass teammates have any ... favorite role model is Jim Carrey ... something most people don’t know about him is that he liberally uses napkins ... most notable thing about his hometown is that its the strawberry capital of Texas ... enjoys listening to Tame Impala ... favorite TV show is Tom & Jerry ... favorite movie is A Night at the Roxbury ... favorite class subject is science ... favorite athlete is Lionel Messi and favorite team is Real Madrid ... upon retirement, would like to become a yoga instructor on a tropical cruise and become President of the United States.
