HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Swam all four years for Oak Ridge High School, while also swimming club for the Sierra Marlins Swim Team…Earned the coaches award in 2016 and 2017, and was named all-league in 2017…Was also named to the Principal’s Honor Roll.
PERSONAL: Member of cadet squadron 30…Son of Steve and Peggy Konig…Has one brother, Shane…Majoring in mechanical engineering with plans on becoming either a pilot or a developmental engineer…Lists his greatest athletic accomplishments as winning the 200 free at leagues, as well as winning a state title with his team as a senior…Credits his age group coach, Sam King, as having the greatest influence on his swimming career…Hobbies include skiing, rock climbing, and fly fishing…Chose the Academy because “I want to be surrounded by great people and be a part of something greater than my own personal desires.”
