JUNIOR YEAR | 2022-23: Ran the 800-meter leg of the distance medley relay that used the fourth-fastest time in Academy history (9:32.50, adjusted for altitude) to win the Mountain West Indoor Championships…also ran on the DMR that clocked the 10th-fastest outdoor time in program history (9:48.39) during a winning performance at the Drake Relays…scored for the Falcons during the open 800 at the Mountain West Indoor meet (seventh, 1:53.30a)…recorded the sixth-fastest outdoor 800-meter time in program history during a 1:49.30 performance at the APU Franson Last Chance Meet…ran an indoor-best 1:52.91a at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational…won the 800-meter run during the indoor (Ralph Lindeman Invitational) and outdoor (Air Force Twilight Open) seasons…opened the season with a 600-meter victory at the Air Force Holiday Open (1:22.35).
SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2021-22: Competed in the 800-meter run during two indoor meets…won the Invitational at the Peak with an altitude-adjusted time of 1:53.63…posted a career-best time of 1:53.57a the following week at the Don Kirby Invitational…did not race during the outdoor season.
FRESHMAN YEAR | 2020-21: Competed in the 800-meter run during four meets…clocked a career-best time of 1:54.22 (adjusted for altitude) at the Air Force Twilight Open during the outdoor season…ran an indoor-best time of 1:57.28a in collegiate debut at the Air Force Invitational.
HIGH SCHOOL: Wyalusing Area Junior/Senior High School...PIAA District 4A champion in cross country...two-time state medalist...three-time Runner of the Year for league...named Newcomer of the Year in 2016...three-time league champion in track (800-meter run, 1600-meter run, 4x800-meter relay)...also holds the school records in those three events...PIAA state medalist in the 1600-meter run...member of the National Honor Society...ranked in top 10 of graduating class.
PERSONAL: Full name is Alex Jeffrey Patton...nickname is “Private”…son of Chad Patton and Rachel Alexander...both parents served in the Marine Corps...has one younger sister...majoring in civil engineering...future plans include becoming a pilot...loves skiing, watersports, dirt bikes and running...uncle, Ryan McCreight, is a 1997 Academy graduate…spent the summer building a trail bridge in a partnership between the USAFA Civil Engineering Department and the U.S. Forest Service...member of Cadet Squadron 06.
