JUNIOR YEAR | 2019-20: Broke the Academy record in the mile twice...earned the team’s Most Outstanding Competitor award...all-conference honoree...clocked a program-best time of 4:40.49 (adjusted for altitude) to earn runner-up honors at the Mountain West Indoor Championships...became just the fifth runner in program history to medal in that event at the conference meet...first broke the Air Force record with a 4:41.65 performance at the Iowa State Classic, finishing third out of 54 runners...deleted nearly three seconds from the program’s Junior Class Record during the season...won the seeded section of the mile at the Colorado Invitational (4:48.81a)...debuted on the program’s all-time standings in the 3000-meter run during only appearance of the season at that distance...registered the fifth-fastest time in program history (9:34.05a) to place fifth at the conference meet...also competed in the 800-meter run once, clocking a team-leading time of 2:13.98a to win the Air Force Team Challenge.

MAJOR CROSS COUNTRY HIGHLIGHTS: Earned All-America honors in 2019 after finishing 39th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships...also captured all-region and all-conference honors that year...claimed first-team status at the conference meet following a fourth-place finish...added a top-10 placement at the NCAA Mountain Regional...was the Falcons’ top finisher at the Wisconsin Nuttycombe Invitational, placing 22nd out of 243 runners...member of the record-setting cross country team that finished eighth at the 2019 NCAA Championships...also ran on the squad that finished second at the conference meet and third at the regional meet...helped the team to the highest national women’s ranking (12th) in Academy history.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Doug and Teresa Norris...nickname is “Hala”...has three siblings (one older, two younger)...majoring in geospatial science...future plans include becoming a RPA pilot or air traffic controller...has served as Element NCO, Element Leader and Support Clerk...named to the Athletic Director’s List...attended the Academy’s Prep School...named Outstanding Female Cadet Candidate in Fitness...hobbies include hiking, driving around, watching movies, hanging out with friends, drowning (swimming) and sleeping...completed the Academy’s Powered Flight course over the summer...member of Cadet Squadron 15.
