JUNIOR YEAR | 2022-23: NCAA Qualifier in the 1500-meter run…set Academy Record in the 1500-meter run…added Air Force Top 10 times in three other events…two-time all-conference honoree…two-time Drake Relays champion…became the 90th different Falcon to claim a Mountain West title after winning the 1500-meter run at the MW Outdoor Championships…clocked an Academy Record time of 3:39.68 to win the conference title and lead Air Force to a 1-2 finish…that time is also a new MW Championship Meet Record and an Air Force Junior Class Record…first debuted at No. 7 on the program’s Top 10 with a 3:43.03 outing at the Bryan Clay Invitational…advanced to the quarterfinals in that event at the NCAA Outdoor Championships…registered the sixth-fastest 5000-meter time in Air Force Outdoor history during only race of the year at that distance (13:46.78, Stanford Invitational)…ran on two winning relays at the 113th Drake Relays, including the 4x1600-meter squad that accounted for an Academy Record time of 16:23.31 in the victory…also anchored the distance medley relay that finished first at that meet in 9:48.39…became the fourth Academy athlete to run sub-four in the mile during a 3:59.33 performance at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational…that is the third-fastest time in Air Force history…first debuted at No. 7 on the program’s Top 10 during an altitude-adjusted run of 4:01.78 at the Colorado Invitational…finished second in that event at the Mountain West Indoor Championships, clocking a 4:00.70a to help Air Force take a 1-2 finish in the conference finals…added the 10th-fastest 5000-meter time in Air Force Indoor history with a 13:57.49 at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener…capped junior year with the second-fastest all-season mile in Air Force history (3:58.83) to win the Music City Track Carnival.
SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2021-22: Debuted on the program’s Top 10 in the 1500-meter run…clocked a career-best time of 3:44.18 – the eighth-fastest time in Air Force history – during a winning performance at the APU Last Chance meet…also won that event at the Air Force Twilight Open (3:45.23, adjusted for altitude) and finished second at the Stanford Invitational (3:51.45)…ran the 5000-meter run once during the outdoor season…clocked the program’s 16th-fastest time (14:00.14) after tying with his twin brother Scott at the Mt. SAC Relays…led off the distance medley relay that clocked the 10th-fastest outdoor time in program history (9:58.25) at the Drake Relays…ran the mile once during the indoor season, posting a time of 4:07.70 at the Iowa State Classic…that is the 23rd-fastest time in Air Force history
FRESHMAN YEAR | 2020-21: Posted a Freshman Class Record time of 14:02.28 in the 5000-meter run at the Stanford Invitational…that was the fastest time on the team in 2021…also competed in the 1500-meter run twice during the outdoor season…clocked a personal-best time of 3:48.22 (adjusted for altitude) at the Mines Last Chance meet…competed in the 3000-meter run once during the indoor season…clocked a debut time of 8:24.89 at the Iowa State Classic.
MAJOR CROSS COUNTRY HIGHLIGHTS: Named Mountain West Male Runner of the Year as a junior after capturing the 2022 conference title…became just the second member of the men’s team to win an individual championship in cross country…led Air Force to the first 1-2-3 finish in conference history…three-time all-conference honoree, with two first-team distinctions…member of three-straight conference championship teams…named to the Mountain West 25th Anniversary Cross Country Team.
HIGH SCHOOL: Wheaton Warrenville South High School...two-time all-state selection in track...placed fourth in the 1600-meter run at the Illinois 3A State Championships as a senior...also accounted for a top-10 finish (seventh) in that event as a junior.
PERSONAL: Full name is Sean Robert Maison…nickname is “Lil Bob”...son of Robert and Jennifer Maison...has a twin brother Scott, who is a 2023 Academy graduate and former member of the Falcons’ distance squad...also has one older sister (Natalie) and one younger brother (Allen)...majoring in management…future plans include becoming an acquisitions officer…also an aspiring master angler...attended the Academy’s Prep School...hobbies include playing video games, fishing, being outdoors, being indoors, playing 3x3 half court, hydration, swimming, and camping...member of Cadet Squadron 12.
