JUNIOR | 2020-21: Part of the 800 free relay team to finish seventh at the MW Championships. markign a season-best time (7:34.58) ... placed 22nd at the MW Championships in the 400 IM ... swam the third-fastest times on the team in the 200 free (1:53.96) and the 500 free (5:03.47) ... swam fifth-fastest time on the team in the 1,000 free (10:43.49), 1,650 free (17:55.35) and 200 breaststroke (2:28.43) ... swam personal season-best times in the 50 breaststroke (31.29), 100 breaststroke (1:06.96), and 200 IM (2:13.58).
SOPHOMORE | 2019-20: Had the fifth-best team times on the season in the 200 free, 100 breast, and 200 breast…Was a member of the team’s fastest 800 free relay squad on the year…Named to the AD’s list.
FRESHMAN | 2018-19: Had the second fastest 200 breaststroke for the team on the season with a 2:16.78, which was the fifth-best in program history…Also had the third quickest 100 breaststroke on team this season (1:03.66) which was the sixth-best at the Academy…Was a member of the team’s best 200 medley relay squad (1:42.38).
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Letter all four years for her high school, while also swimming club for the Nation’s Capital Swim Club…Was named her team’s MVP both junior and senior years, while also earning Rookie of the Year honors as a freshman…Was also her team’s highest point scorer all four years…Holds three school records…Awarded West Springfield Elite Top 4 Female Athlete honors her senior season…Also participated in cross country and outdoor track and field, and was named the Rookie of the Year her freshman season…Was on her school’s student newspaper for three years, including as Head Editor her senior year…Received a nomination for the 2016 Virginia High School League Woman Sports Journalist of the Year…Also a member of the National Honor Society, the National English Honor Society, and the History Honor Society.
PERSONAL: Member of cadet squadron 12 where she is the Public Affairs NCOIC…Daughter of Ernie and Julie Wittich…Has two sisters, Madeline and Christine…Majoring in behavioral science with a minor in religious studies…Has untouchable Spotify playlists…Says all of her coaches have been influential on her swimming career, but in particular her childhood coach Scott Darwin because “he taught me how to swim and convinced me from a young age that I had a future in the sport was there from day one and has never stopped cheering me on.”…Both her grandfathers served in the Army, and her cousin, Hannah, is currently enlisted in the Army as well…Hobbies include doing anything active outdoors, spending time with family and friends, making and eating new food recipes, and hanging out with her Weimaraner dog, Eiger…Chose the Academy because “I love to work hard and go off of the beaten path.
