FRESHMAN | 2018-19: Earned Academic All-Mountain West honors…Finished the season with four top-five team finishes, including the top time in the 200 fly (2:05.21)…Also had the team’s fourth fastest times in the 100 fly (57.77) and 500 free (5:06.58), as well as the fifth quickest in the 200 free (1:56.24)...Named to the Dean’s list both semesters and the Athletics list in the fall.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Four year letterwinner for Woodland Regional High School, while also swimming club for the Cheshire YMCA Sea Dog Swim Club…Was a two-time Connecticut Class S State Champion, while being a finalist all four years…Named the team MVP all four years as well, while holding eight school records…Also a four-time Naugatuck Valley League Champion…For her club, was a two-time YMCA National Championship finalist, while also earning the sportsmanship award…Was a Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference scholar-athlete…Finished with academic high honors all four years of high school…Was a member of the National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, where she was Vice president, as well as the Word Language Honor Society…Also lettered two years in cross country.
PERSONAL: Member of cadet squadron 30 where she is the Standardization and Evaluation Clerk…Daughter of Jim and Daron Gawronski…Has two sisters, Emma and Corey…Undecided on a major, but plans on becoming a pilot…Greatest team moment in sports was winning a league championship for the first time in her high school’s history…Lists her father as having the biggest influence on her swimming career…Hobbies include hiking and listening to music…Chose the Academy “To serve my country and be a part of something greater than myself.”
