Aaron Ferguson is in his fourth academic year at the United States Air Force Academy, serving as primary media contact for Air Force women’s basketball, women’s tennis and women’s gymnastics programs.
Ferguson oversees all media aspects of listed programs, including assisting in the production of television/radio broadcasts, production and distribution of game day statistics and managing all content output on goairforcefalcons.com for assigned programs, while additionally serving as media liaison for the Mountain West Conference.
Prior to his arrival at the Academy in the fall of 2022, Ferguson served as Public Relations Manager at Southern Methodist University, acting in a similar capacity for the 2021-22 American Athletic Conference Champion men’s golf program, a three-time ECAC conference champion equestrian team, and top-40 ITA-ranked women’s tennis program in Dallas, Texas a top-five national media market.
Ferguson completed an M.S. in Sports Management from Northwestern State University of Louisiana in 2022, where he got his start in the industry covering Lady Demon tennis and the 2021 Southland Conference Champion women’s soccer program. In addition to his sports assignments at NSU, Ferguson served two seasons as a member of the stat crew for NSU men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball, while serving in a secondary capacity for Demon football.
Ferguson gained an undergraduate degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2018, where he served one year as a marketing intern for SFA Athletics. During college, he began his writing career covering the Dallas Cowboys for dallassportsfanatic.com, where, as an amateur content creator, he was a featured writer on Bleacher Report.
Ferguson is a voting member of both the U.S. Basketball Writers Association and College Sports Communicators (CSC).
