Chris Julius is a native of Killeen, TX and has been dancing since his pre-teen years. As a multi-sport athlete in high school, Chris continued his dance education and enrolled in weekly classes at the University of South Carolina through their Dance Department’s high school outreach program. There, he continued to train in ballet, contemporary, modern and hip hip technique, as well as dance composition and education.
In 2012, Julius attended the US Air Force Academy and was an active member of the spirit program, performing with the cheer and dance teams as the “Mic Man” and as “The Bird”. After transferring to the University of Colorado Denver in 2015, Julius began coaching on the high school level and entered the Colorado judging circuit through the Colorado High School Activities Association. During his time coaching high school, Julius’ program has made multiple national semi-finalist appearances, and achieving program history by making finals at the UDA National High School Nationals in both the Small Varsity Pom and Small Varsity Jazz divisions. Coach Julius is entering his 10th season coaching.
