Colonel (select) Evan Jones serves as the chief of hand surgery at the Air Force Academy returning to his alma-mater where he was a distinguished graduate in 1999. Upon graduation, Jones attended the U.S. Army-Baylor Graduate Program in Physical Therapy, after which time he served as a physical therapist at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. This was followed by acceptance to medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. He went on to complete his orthopedic residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center and then fellowship training in Hand and Microvascular Surgery at the Hand Center of San Antonio. Prior to his tour at USAFA, Jones served as the orthopedic surgery and podiatry department head at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK. He is currently the master clinician at USAFA and the senior hand surgeon in the Air Force. He has served on numerous committees and is an active member in the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Jones is board certified in both orthopedic surgery and hand surgery.
