Col Matt Husemann is the Vice Athletic Director, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado. He began his assignment in August 2025 and he supports a four-year regime of athletics, academics, military training and character development programs leading to a Bachelor of Science degree and a commission as a second lieutenant.
Col Husemann received his commission from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2000 and served in a variety of operational and staff assignments throughout his career. He served as the Vice Superintendent of the Air Force Academy, Commander, 436th Airlift Wing, Vice Wing Commander, 86th Airlift Wing, he commanded at the squadron level and served in the Joint Staff Directorate for Logistics.
His decorations include Air Force organizational awards recognizing team excellence: Meritorious Unit Award, Air and Space Outstanding Unit Award, and Air and Space Organizational Excellence Award.
