Lt. Col. Josh Clayton

Lieutenant Colonel Joshua Clayton is in his first season as an offensive assistant. Clayton returned to his alma mater after serving as the Commander of the Integrated C4ISR Analysis Squadron, Networked Weapons and Modeling Group, National Air and Space Intelligence Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He was responsible for a 150-person squadron charged with providing foundational intelligence on adversary Command, Control, Computers, Communication, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance and Integrated Air Defense Systems capabilities to policymakers, warfighters, and the acquisition community through the execution of an $18 million dollar budget.
Prior to serving at Wright Patterson AFB, Clayton was stationed at Peterson SFB. He served as a Political Affairs Strategist and Aerospace Defense Planner on the NORAD and USNORTHCOM J5 staff where he was responsible for developing homeland defense plans in coordination with Canadian allies and other Combatant Commands. Clayton is a career intelligence officer with assignments that include Mission Operations Commander supporting U-2 operations, unit level intelligence support for F-15E and F-15C as well as remotely piloted aircraft, and Combined Air and Space Operations Center Dynamic Targeting. He deployed to Southwest Asia with the 336th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron in support of OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE and OPERATION FREEDOM’S SENTINEL.
Lt Col Clayton is a 2008 a graduate of the Academy, and he was a three-year letterwinner as a defensive end for the Falcons. He earned his degree in Social Science, and he also holds a master’s degree in intelligence studies and a master’s in military operational Art and Science.
Clayton and his wife, Heather, have one child, Blake (12).
