Senior Abby Cotuna, playing in her first collegiate tennis competition in over two calendar years, debuted her senior season with a 4-0 finish and singles title at this year’s ITA Bedford Cup in the Mountains. Cotuna scored two straight-set wins over Denver and Utah State opponents before overcoming poor weather conditions to power past Idaho junior Jessica Matthews in a three-set duel for the title. Cotuna made a speedy return to competition ahead of this year’s Bedford Cup, overcoming a 14-day tryout just prior to the three-day event.
