Air Force Academy C1C Charlie Toth was selected as the Mountain West Conference men's swimmer of the week, Jan. 10.
Toth swam to a pair of first-place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle (20.95) and the 100-yard freestyle (46.26) en route to the Falcons upset of No. 28 Washington on Jan. 4. Both of the Seabrook, Texas, native's times are the team's best this season and rank in the top 10 in the conference. In addition to Toth's individual victories, his anchor leg in the winning 400-yard freestyle relay was the deciding factor in the Falcons' upset over Washington. Toth finished .59 of a second ahead of the Washington swimmer, which enabled the Falcons to edge the Huskies 124-113.
Air Force returns to action this weekend with a pair of Mountain West Conference dual meets. The Falcons will battle BYU on Friday, Jan. 12 in Provo, Utah, then take on Utah in Salt Lake City on Saturday, Jan. 13.
