Falcons are keeping up the speed--The men and women's cross country teams captured first place in the University of New Mexico Lobo Invitational, Sept. 22.
The women's team scored 30 points, followed by UNM with 59, Louisiana State University (66) and UNLV (83). Air Force's Jean Taylor was the team leader in fourth place with a time of 22:50. All of Air Force's top seven women came in fourth through 10th place in just a matter of seconds of each other. Taylor has been the Falcons' leader in her last two races.
In the men's race, the Falcons scored 26 points and were followed by New Mexico with 49 points, LSU (69) and Dine College with 99 points. It was Ben Payne who led the Air Force team to victory with a time of 24:20. Payne was the first-place finisher.
The Falcons have been running faster with each race, considering that neither team could compete last weekend due to the nation's tragedies.
