The Air Force cross country team closes out the regular season this Saturday (Oct. 24) in the same place it opened the 2026 campaign in early September, as the squad heads to Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs for the annual UCCS Colorado Springs XC Open.
MEET INFORMATION
The Colorado Springs XC Open will be held at Monument Valley Parker – site of the Falcons' season-opening AFXC Classic. The non-scoring event will begin with the men's 8K at 9:15 a.m. (MT), while the women's 6K will follow at 45 minutes later. Updated results are scheduled to be provided by Rapid Results.
SPECTATOR INFORMAITON
The course is located in the north section of Monument Valley Park, on the east side of I-25. Spectators should exit I-25 at Unitah and go east for two blocks, until reaching the stop light at Cascade. Turn left and proceed down Cascade until making another left turn at Fontanero. There is a gravel parking lot at the end of the road, while parking is also available along the streets in the surrounding neighborhood. The start and finish areas are approximately 50 feet from Culebra Street.
ABOUT THE COURSE
The course consists of a 2000-meter lower loop and a 2000-meter upper loop. The start and finish areas are grass, while the rest of the course is crushed gravel and packed dirt. The women will run the lower loop, the upper loop, and the lower loop, before ending on the grass to the west of the trail, while the men will run the same segments, before adding an additional trek on the upper loop to finish.
THE NEXT COURSE
Air Force begins the championship portion of its season next week, when the team travels to Reno, Nev., for the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Cross Country Championships on Friday, Oct. 30.
