The Air Force volleyball team continued to play well, winning its conference home opener over Wyoming 3-1 (30-24, 30-24, 27-30, 30-21). The Falcons improve to 8-10 overall and 2-2 in the Mountain West. They are have lost just one match at home, winning seven of eight at the Cadet Gymnasium.
"We are playing with a lot of confidence right now," head coach Penny Lucas-White said. "We had four players in double figures in kills. That says a lot about our team."
The Falcons finished the match with a .238 hitting percentage (63k-143a-29e). Four players were in double figures in kills for the Falcons. Tiffany Bishop notched a team-high 16 kills. Kristin Hamlett had 14 and Lamecca Jefferson had 13. Delavane Diaz added 12 kills and 13 digs for the double-double. Jaime Beatty led all players with 16 digs. The Falcons had nine team blocks, including three solo blocks by Bishop. Kristin Huitt tied a career-high with 53 assists - the fourth time achieving that total this season.
The Falcons look to continue their hot streak when they host Colorado State on Friday, Oct. 11th. Start time is 7 p.m.
