AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) - Air Force's Chance Harridge set the NCAA Division I-A single-season record for touchdowns by a quarterback with three scores in a loss to San Diego State on Saturday.
Harridge scored on runs of 6, 2 and 35 yards, giving him 22 this season. Navy's Chris McCoy set the previous record of 20 in 1997.
Harridge tied the record by bulling his way through two tacklers for a 6-yard run early in the second quarter. He broke it with a 2-yard run around left end that put Air Force up 27-17 late in the third quarter.
San Diego State won the game, 38-34.
