Falcons Wrestling Drops Western State

U.S.A.F.A., Colo.- The Air Force wrestling team dominated its home meet with Division II Western State, 34-12, Friday evening in the Cadet Gymnasium. The Falcons won seven of their ten matches to bring their record this season to 10-3.
Heavyweight Kevin Hoy began the meet, quickly pinning Jeremy Goff with a time of 2:05. Heath McKim (125) followed Hoy with another win for Air Force, defeating his opponent 11-2. The Falcons won the next three matches with Andrew Peters (133) defeating Jared Haberman, 7-2, Chris Bennet (141) winning his match by forfeit and No. 12 Scott Frohardt (149) defeating Adrian Jiron, 11-3.
Blaine Brown (157) fell to Josh Nacey, 8-2, to give Air Force its first loss of the evening. Samuel Sherertz (165) went into to overtime and lost to Dave Vondy, 8-6. Terry Parham (174) brought the next win for the Falcons with a technical victory, 15-0, over Tyler Lancaster. Josh McCrary (184) pinned Dirk Sisneros to give Air Force its final win of the evening. Blake Wilson of Western State pinned Ryan Kaiser with a time of 4:46.
The Falcons have a 12-day rest before heading to Wyoming Feb. 27 for their final dual meet of the season.
