The Falcon boxing team won 10 of 12 bouts Saturday at the University of California Invitational in the Recreational Sports Facility on the Bear's campus in Berekley.
"We took a more experience group of boxers on this trip and they performed as we expected," said head coach Eddie Weichers. "All of them prepared themselves before the trip with intense workouts and their dedication paid off at Cal."
One of the best bouts of the night, according to Weichers , came in the 175-pound division with Joseph Harding winning a decision over Cal's Nick Byrd. Harding, who defeated Byrd in a bout last season, was in control of the bout throughout all three rounds.
"Joe used a good jab and straight rights throught the bout," said Weichers. "The difference in the bout was Joe was able to keep Byrd at a good range. He looked extremely sharp and displayed good ring discipline."
All of Air Force boxers are preparing themselves for the Wing Open Championships scheduled for March 2 and 2 p.m. in Clune Arena.
