Old Dominion Women's Tennis Sweeps Air Force

The Old Dominion women's tennis team defeated the Air Force Academy 7-0 Friday by sweeping the singles and doubles competition. Air Force is now 11-7 this season.
Old Dominion won all six singles matches. Sophomore Lara van Rooyen was the lone Lady Monarch to lose a set. She defeated Laura Nigro, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5, at No. 2 singles. No. 1 singles player Nataly Cahana defeated Brooke Parsons 6-2, 6-3, while Ana Radeljevic took home a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles. Mily Kannarkat gave up just one game at fourth singles handing Kelly O'Bryant a 6-1, 6-0 loss. Julia Sotiriu was victorious, 7-5, 6-4, over Ashley Gee at No. 5 singles, 7-5, 6-4, and Patricia Araujo defeated Gina Black for a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 6.
In doubles play, Old Dominion won all three matches. The tandem of Cahana/Radeljevic won an 8-1 match at No. 1 doubles over Parsons/Nigro. Kannarkat/Sotririu defeated Air Force's team of Shelby/Black at No. 2 doubles and van Rooyen/Araujo shutout O'Bryant/Tomkie, 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
