Air Force dominates Wyoming, 7-0

The Air Force women's tennis team closed out its regular season Sunday with a 7-0 victory over Mountain West Conference opponent Wyoming at the Lobo Tennis Club in Albuquerque, N.M.
The Falcons (13-11 overall) closed the season 2-5 in conference matches. AFA now gears for the MWC Championships April 25-27 in Provo, Utah.
Air Force took two of three doubles matches to seize the doubles point and a 1-0 lead. The Falcons' duo of Brooke Parsons and Laura Nigro topped Jenny Bowman and Jennifer Hancock 8-5 at No. 1 doubles while AFA's Kelli O'Bryant and Ashley Gee claimed an 8-2 win over Toni Terhaar and Kati Gyulai at the No. 3 position.
Holding the 1-0 lead, the Falcons won all six singles contests to close out the match. Air Force lost just one set.
Parsons topped Bowman 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, to finish the MWC portion of the season 6-1 at the No. 1 slot. Nigro earned a 6-2, 6-2 decision over Santi at No. 2, while Heather Shelby beat Hancock 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3. O'Bryant was stretched to three sets by Paulina del Monte before triumphing, 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 at No. 4. Gina Black beat Gyulai 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 singles and Gee closed out the match with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Terhaar at the no. 6 position.
