Air Force Upsets Washington in Swimming

Air Force upset national power Washington, 123-113, in men's swimming action Thursday night at the Academy natatorium. The Falcons took individual titles in six of 13 events and used its depth to win the meet.
Brady Lindberg helped pace the Falcons, winning the one-meter (180.08) and the three-meter (229.43) diving events. Also winning individual titles were Ryan Fitzgerald in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:55.89, John Dayton in the 50-yard freestyle (21.58) Eric Pounds in the 200-yard butterfly (1:54.78) and Paul Brehm in the 200-yard backstroke (1:53.00).
The win improves the Falcons to 8-1 overall and 5-0 at home. The Falcons return to the pool at Denver on Saturday at noon. The Falcons next home meet is Friday, Jan. 17, at 5 p.m. when the Falcons begin Mountain West Conference action against UNLV.
