LONG BEACH, Calif.- The Air Force men's and women's swimming and diving teams are ninth and sixth respectively after the first day of action at the Speedo Cup Invitational. The three-day competition features Stanford who is currently in the lead on the men's side with a total score of 583 points followed by BYU (264), CSU Bakersfield (262), University of the Pacific (156), UC Irvine (141), UC San Diego (140), UC Davis (118), Cal Baptist (105), Air Force (91), and UC Santa Cruz (80).
On the women's side, Oregon State Univ. leads the pack with 357 points followed by UC San Diego (315.5), UC Irvine (230.5), Colorado State Univ. (208.5), Univ. of San Diego (185), Air Force (183), BYU (182), New Mexico State Univ. (123), San Jose State (121), Pepperdine Univ. (108.5), Fresno State (68.5), Cal Baptist (63), and UC Santa Cruz and Loyola Marymount with 58 points each. The meet continues Friday morning at 9 a.m. and concludes Saturday afternoon.
