Air Force senior linebacker Marchello Graddy and senior offensive linemen Brett Waller and Brett Huyser were named today to the all-Mountain West Conference football squad, the conference office announced. Graddy was a first-team selection while Waller and Huyser were named to the second team.
Graddy ranked fifth in the conference in tackles with a 9.4 average and fourth in sacks with 6.0 for 42 yards. He recorded a career-high 18 tackles at Navy earlier this season which was the most by a player in the conference all season. His 18 stops are also the most by a Falcon since Anthony Schlegel had 19 vs. Notre Dame last season. Graddy tied a school record against Army with three fumble recoveries. His five recoveries this season is one shy of the school record of six set in 1978. Graddy had nine fumble recoveries for his career which ties an Academy record.
Several other Falcons received honorable mention all-conference honors as well. The list includes: kicker Joey Ashcroft, defensive end Monty Coleman, quarterback Chance Harridge, defensive back Larry Duncan, linebacker Trevor Hightower, defensive back Jeff Overstreet, halfback Darnell Stephens, tight end Adam Strecker, nose guard Nick Taylor and offensive lineman Jesse Underbakke.
