Falcons Defeated By BYU

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) - Rafael Araujo had a career-high 31 points as BYU defeated Air Force 56-43 on Saturday.
Araujo was 13-of-16 from the field and 5-of-8 on free throws and had five steals and a team-high nine rebounds. Mark Bigelow added 12 points for BYU (19-7, 8-3 Mountain West).
Joel Gerlach had 10 points for Air Force (11-14, 2-10), which shot only 39 percent from the field and 55 percent from the line.
BYU, which leads the conference in defensive field-goal percentage, held the Falcons to 29 percent shooting in the second half.
The Cougars shot 56 percent from the field and 73 percent from the line for the game.
BYU took an 18-9 lead early in the first half, but Air Force rallied and trailed by just four at the break, 26-22.
A jumper by Bigelow with 6:22 to play in the game put the Cougars up 45-34.
The Cougars improved to 5-1 in conference road games. The loss was Air Force's third straight.
