Air Force looked solid in its final preseason tune up on Saturday during the annual Blue-Silver scrimmage in Falcon Stadium. For the record, the varsity defeated the Scout team, 32-7, in one half of play.

The special teams got involved when Nelson Mitchell blocked a field goal attempt and David Conley scooped it up and returned it 90 yards for a touchdown to give the varsity a 22-0 lead.
The scout team got on the board with an 80-yard scoring pass to make the score 22-7. Freshman Jacobe Kendrick answered for the varsity with a three-yard run to make it 29-7 with 53 seconds remaining in the first half. Joey Ashcroft capped the scoring with a 25-yard field goal as time expired.
The second half was delayed due to weather and then altered to just two 10 minute quarters with a running clock to give the third and fourth team players some playing time before severe weather covered the area.
The varsity rolled up 261 yards of total offense in the first half, including 178 rushing. Backup quarterback Adam Fitch led the team with 49 yards rushing. He also hit five of seven passes for 57 yards. Kendrick added 34 yards rushing and Boman 22. Chance Harridge had a light day with one carry for three yards. He also completed his only two passes for 26 yards.
Defensively, Mark Carlson led the varsity with three tackles. Mitchell also had a tackle for loss for one yard and two other tackles.
