Air Force Defeats Service Academy Rival Navy, 3-0

The Air Force volleyball team stayed unbeaten against service academy rival Navy, defeating the Midshipmen 3-0 (30-18, 30-23, 30-20) in the evening match of the Air Force Invitational tournament. The Falcons have never lost to Navy in the team's seven all-time meetings. Air Force improves to 6-2 overall, while Navy falls to 2-4.
Delavane Diaz notched 14 kills and eight digs for the Falcons, who are off to their best start in four years with the victory. Lamecca Jefferson added 11 kills and 10 digs for the double-double. Kristin Huitt also tallied a double-double, her fourth of the season, with 39 assists and 10 digs. Air Force finished the match with a .240 hitting percentage, while holding Navy to a negative .080.
The Falcons will face McNeese State on Saturday (Sept. 13) at 11:30 a.m.. McNeese State lost to Southern Mississippi 3-0 in the tournament's opener. They will then face Southern Miss at 7:00 p.m.
