Falcons fall to Gonzaga, 4-1

Annie Hawkins scored two goals as Gonzaga defeated Air Force, 4-1, in a non-conference women's soccer match Sunday, Sept. 28, in Spokane, Wash.
The Falcons fell to 4-4-1 overall while Gonzaga improved to 5-4.
Sarah Hawkins opened the scoring in the 24th minute when Walker Loseno sent a crossing pass into the penalty box. Hawkins scored her third goal of the season. Nine minutes later, Annie Hawkins scored her seventh of the season for a 2-0 Bulldog lead. Ashley Pryor made a pass through the defense and Hawkins was one-on-one with Falcon keeper J.J. Wolf.
Air Force answered early in the second half as Jennifer Rowland scored an unassisted goal in the 56th minute. Rowland collected a loose ball and beat Bulldog keeper Ashley Haugen one-on-one.
Less than three minutes later, the Bulldogs took a 3-1 lead as Annie Hawkins scored from Sarah Hawkins. Pryor scored the Bulldogs' fourth goal from Loseno in the 81st minute.
Gonzaga out-shot Air Force, 12-11, in total attempts. Each team had seven shots on goal. Wolf made three saves for Air Force while Haugen made five.
Air Force returns home for a pair of non-conference home games against DePaul, Oct. 3, and Montana, Oct. 5.
