Air Force Falls To #13 Utah, 2-0

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - A pair of goals was enough for #13 Utah to down Air Force, 2-0, in a Mountain West Conference women's soccer match Wednesday night at the Cadet Soccer Stadium. The loss drops the Falcons to 3-9-3, 0-2-1.
The Utes improve to 10-4-0, 3-0-0.
Utah took an early 1-0 lead in the 21st minute. Adele Letro scored her conference-leading seventh goal of the season on a turn-around shot from 10 yards out. Melissa Crespo was credited with the assist.
The Utes made it a 2-0 game in the 56th minute. On a melee at midfield, Jen Christoffers was able to get to the ball in mid-sprint and fired from 35 yards out, clearing Falcon goalkeeper Erin Wallace, who had wandered off line, for the second goal of the game.
Utah out-shot Air Force, 17-10 and 8-4 on goal. Katherine Slogic led the way for the Falcons with three shots, two on goal. Wallace had five saves in the loss.
Ute goalkeeper Ashley Mason had four saves in 75 minutes played.
The Falcons return to action Saturday, Oct. 14 at #19 BYU.
